Annie Decoine Annie Decoine is Wayne Decoine's grandmother. He considers her a role model as she stayed strong and persevered despite many family struggles. She raised ten children of her own and also adopted her grandchildren as her own. Since her youth she has learned to skin, tan, sew, and bead hides.
"I have been brought up by my grandmother and consider her to be my mother. I feel that I am very lucky to have benefited from her skills and knowledge while I was growing up. I have learned a lot from her, but the most important part of her teachings was respect for every living thing."
