Tribal Hunt

Twentieth-century western American art continues to depict Indian people as they lived, or were imagined to have lived, in the past. The popular subject of the buffalo hunt links Indian people with the bison, an animal that was almost exterminated, and thus connects the Indian with the idea of doomed fate.
